Breakout Cities uses directional monthly estimates for 67 cities. The goal is useful exploration, not a quote, guarantee, or financial recommendation.
What the rank measures
The default rank combines affordability, savings runway, lifestyle tag match, basic infrastructure signals, and data confidence.
Why the data is directional
Rent and local prices move quickly. Each city should be treated as a research starting point before booking or relocating.
Where data can improve next
The current dataset is expanded seed data. The next upgrade should move snapshots into Cloudflare D1 and optionally enrich country-level inflation from public sources such as the World Bank Indicators API.

Why were there so few cities before?
The previous MVP used 12 hand-written city records. The rank redesign expands that seed dataset to make browsing and filtering worthwhile.

No. They are estimated monthly baselines intended to compare relative affordability and lifestyle fit.
Why keep confidence labels?
Because honest uncertainty is better than fake precision. Directional data should say so clearly.
